ORCHARD HILL HAWK TALK
Be Safe - Be Respectful - Be Responsible - Be a Hawk!
April 1, 2020
Greetings from Principal Carpenter
I wanted to reach out and to all of you during these times of uncertainty. As we adjust to our current Stay Home order, please know that we want to be of service to you as best we can. In this newsletter you will find information about our free meal programs, locations of free internet and information regarding ideas and ways to help your child engage in learning while away from school.
We know that each family has a unique set of circumstances and our biggest priority is to be helpful in any way we can. We look forward to the day when we can return to school. In the meantime, we will stay connected by contacting families on a weekly basis check-in.
One final thing, please watch this awesome video by Jason Mraz and share it with your kids. The song is called "Have it All" and that is our hope for all of our students. To know that they are valued, they are missed, and they have it within themselves to dream big and HAVE IT ALL. Please stay safe and know we are thinking of you.
Teacher Check-In's
Teachers are likely calling from a private cell phone so you may not want to pick up but just know that we are doing our best to contact you. If you haven't been contacted yet, you can always call the school at 541-779-1766 and leave a message indicating the best phone number and time that you can be reached. This info will be passed onto the teacher.
For families who are not able to access our online resources, we will be creating learning packets and working to distribute them later this week. More info to follow about that as our plan fully develops.
Learning from Home
During this time away from school, our goal is that your student stay engaged in learning. We want to act as a resource for you to find ways to do that. Please visit our district website where we have compiled some opportunities by grade level.

We also need a headshot of any student that did not get their picture taken during school picture day. That includes anyone that was absent on picture day or that enrolled after November 10th. Thank you!
