FREE Breakfast & Lunch for CVP Students
Beginning Monday, September 14, all BCSC students will receive free meals for breakfast and lunch regardless of financial status.
The USDA recently announced that it would allow schools to serve free meals to all students through the end of 2020. This effort will help ensure all BCSC students will have access to nutritious food as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. The change applies to all BCSC students, regardless if they are enrolled in person or online. This is thanks to a federal extension of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) summer meal program. The change will occur until December 31, 2020 or federal funds dedicated are depleted, whichever comes first.
School breakfast & lunch may be ordered for your student (s) by calling the school cafeteria. Please place your order by 9:00 a.m. daily. Meals may be picked up curbside between 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. daily at the school cafeteria door. Meals are only available to students enrolled in BCSC schools.
For more information on daily menu choices, please visit the BCSC Food Service webpage at www.bcscschools.org or contact your school cafeteria.
BCSC Food Pantry at East and North
Research shows that 17% of school-aged students in Bartholomew County are food insecure, not always knowing where their next meal will come from. For more information and dates, please visit the following websites:

Edgenuity How To's: Do you know about Guided Notes?
1) HELP IN IDENTIFYING KEY IDEAS
Students often struggle to determine the most important concepts in a lesson, and may spend time taking notes on everything. This can result in information overload as valuable energy is spent trying to process information that isn’t as important. Guided notes can help by providing students with an outline of the most important details. And because most information is provided in the guided notes, students can focus their energy on building a solid understanding rather than trying to write down everything.
2) INCREASED ENGAGEMENT
There is plenty of evidence to show that information is more likely to be absorbed when the listener is actively engaged in some way. Note-taking in any form can help by giving students something tactile to be engaged in during instruction. Guided notes are particularly helpful because they allow students to leave a lesson with robust notes of the key concepts without overburdening their focus on the note-taking process.
3) HIGHER RETENTION OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Well-crafted guided notes will purposefully leave important ideas blank with the expectation that the student listens carefully during a lesson to fill in these blanks. This keeps the student actively listening for those key ideas, and then encourages them to write those ideas down. The physical act of writing down keywords and phrases increases the likelihood that the idea will be retained, and it engages multiple modalities in their interactions with key concepts. Retaining the most important information is ultimately the goal of guided notes.

How to Access Guided Notes (these are not available for all courses):
Once students login to a course, the guided notes will be in the Course Map. It is highlighted for each topic (before "Warm Up").
