Blaze Bulletin
Edition 18 Week of February 5
Greetings...
Teachers,
As the administrative staff was studying Hattie's Visible Learning for Teachers, this quote made us all pause:
"An art of teaching is seeing the commonality in diversity." - Hattie
We were thinking and talking about this idea in terms of instructing to a large group and also just in general citizenship. It is, indeed, an art to be able to see through differences to common ground. It doesn't mean we ignore differences, we just recognize them, learn about them, accept them, and move forward to common goals. This is an interesting idea for PLCs or C&I groups to discuss. Also note that the quote says "an art of teaching." What are other "arts" of teaching?
