Announcements!
- Q3 Rally: There is a rally on Friday 1/27! Please review expectations with your Advisory for walking over there, where and how to sit, and behavior while in the stands. Here is a link for more info. Because this is a rally day and the school mission will be shared, it's suggested to sport your fave pirate costume gear (or NP3 gear if you don't have any). Let's do this! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Tjk1uwA_-GHX4U11nw9g1SeGIr8YMGSnQzZEuvFAbc0/edit#gid=1691580290
Teacher Partner Meetings: Remember: 2 learning logs to Anzelc per month.
AICs: AICs are scheduled Wed 2/1.
Parent Volunteers: Don't forget we now have parent volunteers available! We can't ask them for help if we don't have areas of help listed! :) Anytime you have a need for parent help, fill out the Google Doc with details. Parents sign up for jobs and the Parent Committee will connect teachers with their volunteers. Click here to access the doc!
Advisory Garbage Clean-Up: Tuesday 1/24 is Marinkovich & Lewis; Wednesday 1/25 is Larin & Kons.
6th Celebrations: The next one is Friday January 27th!
The Leader In Me: We have a coaching day scheduled Jan 31st. This means Joe Jones will be on site part of the day and there may be a group observing your classes; looking for missions, trees, LIM lessons or LIM language integrated into content instruction or leadership notebooks. The Lighthouse Team will also be meeting to continue planning the roll out for our site. Weeehoo!
Career Fair: Rescheduled for Tue 1/24.
Advisories, Students & Families:
Q3 Rally: Student Government is hosting a rally on Fri 1/27 to kick off the quarter! The leukemia society will be sharing and Student Government will host games and reveal the school mission! Show your pirate pride by sporting your pirate costume attire or NP3 gear!
NP3 High School Fun Fact: Did you know NP3 HS has three amazing School Counselors to help support the HS students? They each have less than 200 students on their caseload! That is unheard of in California. Goooooo Counseling!
Booster Meeting: The next booster meeting will be on Feb 13 6:30pm. Snacks are provided! All are welcome!
NP3 Winter Drive K-12: NP3 students and families can donate winter items for those in need. Donation boxes will be in the front office and the items will be given to the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services. Examples are: blankets, jackets, gloves, scarfs, etc. No food please. The drive will end Jan 31.
Outdoor Club Field-trip: Outdoor club is going rock climbing at Pipeworks on Sat Jan 28 from 11am-1pm. If you want to join Outdoor Club because they do soooooo many fun events please talk to Mr. Hara, Ms. Qasmi or Ms. Marinkovich.
Academic Talent Search Testing (ATS): Is your student interested in getting a taste of the college experience? Academic Talent Search (ATS) offers 4th-9th graders (grade level as of Jan. 1, 2017) exciting summer courses at Sacramento State! Choose from classes like creative computing, messy science, law, neuroscience, and many others. At ATS, your student can spend the summer doing what they love, take classes on a University Campus, and make new friends who share their interests and passion for learning. To join these interactive and hands-on classes, your student needs to take the ATS Qualifying Exam. The test only takes an hour and there is no pass or fail, so there’s no need for them to stress! They MUST take the test to apply for classes, but they don’t have to apply if you change your mind. The Qualifying Exam will be offered at NP3 Middle School on February 3rd at 1:30 pm. Registration forms are attached to this email and can be completed and turned in to your child's counselor by Tuesday January 31st. If you have any other questions, please contact your child's counselor.
