The Mustang Messenger
May 5th, 2023
Greetings Mustang Families!
I hope this message finds you doing well. We are in the final stretch of the school year with just a few weeks left in the fourth quarter.
Monday is the last day for CAASPP testing. Attendance will continue to be important throughout the school year. Please continue to check IC (Infinite Campus) for missing assignments and assessments. Also, if your student has been absent, make sure the absence has been cleared.
We want to finish strong academically, behaviorally, and social/emotionally!
Kindest regards,
Catherine Nicholas, Ed.D.

Teacher Appreciation Week - activities and suggestions from ASB
Staff Appreciation Week
Hello Rancho Pico Parents.
What an incredible school year we have had so far and it's hard to believe there are only 5 weeks left! We would like to thank the teachers, administration, and all the staff at Rancho Pico Junior High and celebrate their contribution to the success of the students this year.
Staff appreciation week is 5/8/23 - 5/12/23, and our PAC has planned a week of treats for them. We are looking for nine volunteers that week. (Three volunteers each day on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday). By signing up, volunteers agree to purchase and/or pick up food items and bring them to Rancho Pico Junior High at 7:30 AM on the specific day. All costs for purchased items will be reimbursed by the PAC so please keep your receipts for reimbursement submission. Volunteers will also help the PAC set up food and drinks in the staff workroom.
To volunteer, please click the link(s) below.

Congratulations to Keira Rand - an Equestrian Superstar!
Keira Rand is a 7th grader at Rancho Pico and is a superstar in the Equestrian world. Kiera is the youngest rider in North America to qualify for the North America Youth Championships (NAYC) at 12 years old. Kiera is currently ranked number one in our region and won 11 events in a row last year. She competes at the professional level and won the Seaside Del Mar Classic last month and finished 2nd two weeks ago at the LA Grand Prix. Last week she place fifth at the Flintridge Grand Prix. Her goal is to finish in the top three in the NAYC and go to Europe to compete internationally.
We are so proud of Kiera and can't wait to see her compete in the Olympic games in the future.
