Centripetal Accelaraation Lab
Mayra Gonzalez, Chris Guy, Christian Herbst ----- 3rd period
Centripetal Acceleration is the acceleration directed toward the center of a circular path.
This is the rollercoaster used to model centripetal force with a match box car.
These loops helped the centripetal acceleration of the match box car increase
Lab Summary:
The rollercoaster was made from orange rails and held up with straws and clamps.
The match box car was placed at the top of the orange rails and released its potential energy and turned it into kinetic energy while accelerating.
The single loop was easier for the car to speed through than the double loop because the car did not have enough take-off acceleration.
