Welcome to the CFAUSD Board! Francis Cooper, 2023-2024 Student Representative
Parkview and Jim Falls Elementary Schools
Melissa Olson, Parkview and Jim Falls Principal, and Janet Goodman, Jim Falls Assistant Principal, introduced their presentation about the Parkview and Jim Falls Daily News program. Dawn Totzke, Parkview and Jim Falls Library Media Specialist, works with 5th grade students to create and present the news each day. Mrs. Totzke creates the slide templates and the news crew is responsible for updating the slides. Students can choose to take on different roles of the news crew, such as anchor, technician, photographer, or script writer. Throughout the presentation, Allie, a 5th grader at Parkview Elementary, demonstrated the information that an anchor shares during the daily news. Sue Kern, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, provided an overview of the OE-11 Instructional Program monitoring report; the Board agreed that the District is in compliance with OE-11; click here to view the report.

Jeff Holmes, Superintendent of Schools, provided an overview of the recommended Neola policy revisions; the Board approved the recommended Neola policy revisions as presented; click here for more details.
Communicating with the Board (if applicable, click on the report heading for greater detail)
The High School hosted an open house on August 30th which was well attended and well-received by staff, students, and families.
Chad Trowbridge, Executive Director of Business Services & Finance, provided an update on the current enrollment numbers.
Sue Kern, Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction, provided an overview of the summer school programming that was held at Southview Elementary, the Middle School, and High School.
Sue Kern, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, provided an overview of the dual credit enrollment report. Sue noted that the Chippewa Falls Senior High School was awarded the 2022 Advanced Placement Pacesetter Award. We earned a Level 2 award which means 20% or more of all students participated in at least one AP exam and 65% or more of those students earned scores of 3 or above on the exams.
The Board was provided with the Neola technical edits to Board policies that do not create contextual changes.
Booster Club Fundraising for Facility Upgrade Report
Steve Olson, Board Representative, provided the Board with a brief update; the Booster Club is currently exploring the possibility of grant dollars that may be available.

Reminder of October Regular Board Meeting Reschedule
Due to a scheduling conflict, the Board approved moving the date of their regular Board meeting and budget hearing to Monday, October 30 to accommodate for that situation.
