A glimpse at the good stuff happening in our schools!
Hello!
Wowzer! Can you believe we are finished with the first quarter of this new school year? It has been a great year so far and our students continue to make us proud. Our schools are working harder than ever before to make sure they are raising students up to reach their highest potential. There are too many great things happening in MGSD to share them all in this newsletter, but we certainly hope you will enjoy this glimpse into our schools! And as always, never hesitate to reach out to us with your questions, comments and concerns. Contact information will be included below! :-)
It's a busy time at PVES!
Whether you are in Kindergarten or 3rd Grade, there is always fun learning going on at Park View Elementary School!

They did the MASH! It was a RRES SMASH!
The Rocky River Elementary Parent Involvement Committee (PIT Crew) held its annual Monster Mash last week! The Monster Mash is a Halloween Dance where students and their families dress up in costumes and enjoy a fun, safe evening with other RRES Racers... um, we mean Monsters! :-)

It's Fall Fair time at South Elementary!
On Thursday, October 27, South Elementary School had its annual Fall Fair and fundraiser sponsored by the PTSO. South Stars enjoyed games, face painting, bounce houses and even throwing pies in Dr. Cottone's face! A very special guest, NASCAR's Michael Waltrip, was on hand to announce the basket raffle winners! Check out this short video with some highlights from this exciting night! A huge THANK YOU to the South PTSO for making this event so successful!

Buckets, sticks, and the Cha-Cha Slide!
The 4th and 5th grade students at MIS have been experimenting with different types of instruments in music class with Ms. Jack. This lesson is all about bucket drumming. Students enjoy bucket drumming because they get to be loud and work together. They all had a blast drumming along to the Cha-Cha slide!

Wondering what Unity Day looked like at Mooresville Middle School?
It looked like students standing united to promote kindness and say no to bullying!
The Bulldogs take EOQs and snacks seriously!
Quarterly testing for MMS students was October 23 through 26. Mrs. Hamilton held a study jam after school on October 25 for the Bulldogs team. The students were serious about the intensive review (and the snacks too)!
Station Rotations for Exam Prep!
MHS is in full midterm swing! Their Math 2 students have been participating in a station rotation to review for their midterm this week. It has been an "all hands" on deck approach in the Media Center as our Math 2 teachers, along with our School Library Media Coordinators, facilitated these stations and students worked collaboratively to prepare for their Midterm.
Trunk or Treat?
MGSD is fortunate to be able to offer an excellent Before and After School Program. They are always doing something fun with the students like at RRES setting up a Trunk or Treat! If you have any questions or are interested in putting your child in the BASP program, please visit the BASP webpage or contact them by phone at 704-658-2691.
