Life and Family Services

Have you made your 2017 year-end donation?

Dear Friends of LFS,

Have you experienced a time in your life when someone close to you did not have the basic needs for themselves or a child in their care? Well this happens every day right here in Noble County. Life and Family Services has assisted more than 375 people (over 1,900 visits and over 1,200 coming in for pregnancy and parenting education) in 2017. More than 140 babies have been born in 2017 to the parents receiving in our services.

You can join Life and Family Services to assist the families throughout Noble County with a year-end, tax deductible donation that will allow us to continue our mission: Promote life, strengthen families, and offer hope through God’s love. As we enter the Christmas season and joyfully anticipate the New Year, we know that God has a plan for this ministry to continue to touch lives with the hope of Christ; to continue changing hearts and continue saving lives in the process. We are blessed to be here to assist women and families that may be facing an unplanned pregnancy or parenting uncertainties. We want to be the first choice for women, a choice of hope and a place where they can learn of the empowering choice of life.

Gabriella shares: BABE has made a great impact in my life in so many ways. First, they have great staff that are engaged in really trying to help educate people better. Secondly, it has helped me become a better mom and how to educate my kids, and how to show them more love and attention. I can also meet with staff and talk to them about any problems without feeling that I will be judged or criticized. I really love the weekly workshops too. I have learned how to become healthy and active and the importance of doing so. Also, how to calm down and how to destress in a healthy way. I truly thank them for being here and trying to help people. I appreciate all that they have done for me and my family.”

To really assist parents with being the best they can be, we must build relationships. Our clients see our staff being the hands and feet of Jesus. They will feel loved, build self-esteem and self-confidence.

Teresa shares: “I am very thankful for the ladies at Life and Family Services and for all they do! Since coming to the BABE Store with my daughter, I have noticed a lot of things have changed. Such as not putting coats or snowsuits on infants and children while in a car seat. I never realized how dangerous this would be for a child if in an accident.”

The videos that they have for their clients to watch are very informative. Also, the vouchers that are earned through doctor appointments, W.I.C. and watching videos or workshops helps the parents earn vouchers for cribs and other items. I am very thankful!”

Our services at Life and Family Services promote life while assisting pregnant women and young families. A parent/guardian has the ability to earn vouchers that can be used to purchase items needed to care for an infant through the age of 3. Vouchers can be earned through one to one educational opportunities at both Life and Family Services offices in Kendallville and Ligonier. We offer weekly “workshops” at our Kendallville office. This is an opportunity for young parents to listen and engage with other organizations, community partners and services that can help improve the quality of life for the children in the family. Men also have the opportunity to participate in our Dad2Dad program. We will be taking BABE to other areas of our county in January. We will be at the Avilla and Rome City libraries on two Tuesdays each month. We are planning to add other locations throughout the county in March.

Chelsea shares: “The BABE Store has helped me out a lot. I like coming and watching videos every week. What helped me the most by earning vouchers, I got a crib. I like the fact that you can also get clothes, high chairs, and other things like socks, diapers, and formula. It’s very helpful if you don’t have much for your baby.

Now is the time that many people are making their year-end donation decisions. We hope you will consider Life and Family Services. You may choose to donate online by visiting our updated website at www.lfsfamilies.org or mail your donation to 201 S. Park Ave., Kendallville, IN 46755.

On behalf of Life and Family Services, I would like to extend to you a most sincere thank you for your prayers and faithful support to our ministry. Over the years, Life and Family Services has assisted many families, but that doesn’t mean we forget anyone who has helped make that possible. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

God Bless,
