Winter FUN!! HMS SNOW SPORTS CLUB
Holly Middle School is sponsoring our Snow Sports Club for the 19th year. Mr. Jack Prechowski, 7th grade social studies teacher; Mrs. Sarah Kuciemba, 6th grade math teacher; and Mrs. Mackenzie Curl, 8th grade science teacher, will be the club sponsors. Our club meets every Tuesday after school for a fun evening of skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Holly. This is a great opportunity for students, regardless of their ability, to learn these winter activities at discounted rates and enjoy an evening with their friends on the slopes. Parents and the rest of the family are also invited to join the fun at Snow Sports Club discounted rates. This can make a GREAT gift for that hard-to-buy-for middle schooler!
For more information contact any of the sponsors at jack.prechowski@hask12.org or sarah.kuciemba@hask12.org, or mackenzie.curl@hask12.org.

Opportunity for Tutoring!!
6th Grade Math Tip!
The ability to have immediate recall of multiplication facts is essential to student success in mathematics. Below is a proven strategy for learning the multiplication facts!!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Students should study for 10-15 minutes a night.
- Making flash cards for each set of multiplication facts through the 12’s is needed.
- They should begin with the easiest ones, and work their way to the most difficult, which typically are 6, 7, 8 and 12. Please help your student with this, make it a family affair!! They will need you to remind them to make flashcards and study! Thank you for your support!
- Use the time frame below to guide you!! Start now and you'll be well on your way to knowing your multiplication facts by the time you come back from break!!
Spend 2 nights a week for each fact
Week 1: 2's, 5's, and 10's (review them all on Sunday)
Week 2: 3's and 9's (review 2's, 5's, and 10's on Wed./Sunday as well)
Week 3: 4's and 6's (review previous weeks on Thur./Sunday as well)
Week 4: 7's and 11's (review previous weeks on Friday as well)
Week 5: 8's and 12's (review all facts Sat./Sunday as well)
Helpful Hint: A 30 minute television show has about 8 minutes of commercials…if students study only during the commercials they can get 8 minutes done in one ½ hour show! They could get 16 minutes of studying done in an hour-long show!
