From the Principal's Desk

Greetings and Happy Friday AES Community!

This week went by quickly, and I look forward to the next few weeks. Teachers at Antrim Elementary are participating in our continued professional development to learn about Universal Design for Learning (UDL). We have been very busy participating in a book study and learning about UDL through the NH UDL Innovation Network. To learn more about this initiative, please click here.

As we move through the next few weeks, here are a couple of dates to keep in mind.

Oct. 7 - Community Meeting (see flyer below)

Oct. 10 - No school for students - Columbus Day

Oct. 13 - 3:45 PTO meeting - all are welcome!

Oct. 14 - Fire Prevention Day

I'll send more information out about a special literacy event and Halloween in next week's Newsletter.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Wellness News from Mr. Benham

In Wellness, students are learning about the Wheel of Wellness. The three parts of the wheel are Physical, Social and Emotional Wellness. During each class we will discuss how our activities are connected to the wheel of wellness. Students are developing an understanding of their own Wellness.

Ms. Lawler's Kindergarten News

After 15 days of careful observation and providing a safe place for our monarch caterpillar to go through its amazing transformation, our butterfly emerged and we were able to release it into our school gardens! We had so much fun watching it through all of its stages and creating science observation journals where we colored pictures of the monarch as it changed: caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly. We hope that our butterfly has a safe journey South for the winter and maybe we'll spot it again in the Spring!
