Digital Citizenship Week
The week of Sept. 10 is Digital Citizenship Week for the state of Indiana. Did you know that MRE is a certified school? This means we are committed to teaching students to responsibly use technology. As we all know, it's a team effort to raise a well rounded student. Parents, here are some activities you can complete at home or at dinner to help with that effort.
Check out this student generated PSA about Digital Citizenship!
Counselor's Corner
Our leadership skill for September is RESPECT. I am teaching classroom lessons this month on bullying. The best way to prevent bullying is for students to understand and be diligent to show respect to all people (regardless of our differences). Ask your 2nd-6th grade children if they remember the 3 characteristics of bullying (repeated, on purpose, & 1-sided). Also, ask your child to demonstrate how to give an Assertive response. We are off to a great start of the school year; MRE students are working hard to grow as leaders!
