Columbia Central Weekly Bulletin
Week of February 5th
Greetings Columbia Families,
Congratulations to Breanna Crubaugh’s homeroom for leading the school in attendance for the month. We will have to see who the winner is at the end of February. The data used for this incentive is the average daily attendance for the month. Students in the winning homeroom will receive pizza during the day at the end of each month.
Our big prize attendance incentive begins Monday, February 6. For students that have perfect attendance for the week, their names will be entered in a six week drawing for a chance to win a big screen TV, Switch, or Nike gift card ($250). If students have perfect attendance for six weeks, they will have six raffle tickets and more of a chance to win a big prize.
The Donut miss Friday attendance incentive started last Friday and will happen each week. Donuts will be provided for students that are in attendance and picked from the drawings on Fridays. You can see some pictures of winners from last Friday.
Please check out our student attendance articles below. Supporting good attendance for our students is one of our goals for the year. From some of the information below, missing just two days of school a month will put students in the chronic absenteeism category. Chronic absenteeism hurts students in a variety of ways, as they progress through their school career, starting in kindergarten. By sixth grade, chronic absence becomes a leading indicator that a student will drop out of high school. Please read more below.
Let's make it a great week at Columbia!
