News from this week
Report cards are coming home today. Please sign the envelope and send it back in on Monday. The report card inside is yours to keep.
Next week starts ITBS testing. Although 4th grade is NOT testing, we ask that you do not join your child for lunch due to testing. Our schedules are slightly altered.
Please remember that reading logs are due every Monday. Please be sure to sign and send in a reading log each week. If you submit the reading log online, please make sure to send me a quick email so I can check your child's name off the list.
Please make sure to continue helping your child practice their multiplication and other math facts. We will begin minute multiplication quizzes each week to help them learn their facts because knowing their math facts is essential to their math learning. If you are looking for extra math practice, there are lots of great websites, including http://www.commoncoresheets.com/.
Next week is our Great Days of Service. Students can bring in items such as toiletries such as new toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and shampoo; household paper goods (paper towels, toilet paper, and tissues); canned goods and other non-perishable foods; and baby supplies (larger size disposable diapers and training pants like Pull-Ups). These items will go to local homeless shelters to help disadvantaged members of our community.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

It is time for the Annual Pumpkin Contest!
One of our room moms, Mrs. Jay, is decorating our classroom pumpkin. The decorated pumpkins will be on display in the main hallway outside the Media Center from Tuesday, October 27 until Friday, October 30. On each of these days, students may bring their pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters to vote for their favorite pumpkin. All money raised will be given to Relay for Life, a community event that raises money for Cancer research. The pumpkins will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at Bingo Night on Friday, October 30.
