Brewster Weekly
April 22, 2022
We are here to do good things for our students, our coworkers, and our community.
We represent qualities such as love, hope, kindness, respect, and responsibility.
Our culture mirrors those attributes. Let’s continue to make our school the best place to work and learn where everyone is inspired to be the best they can be. What we do, we do well.
Let’s keep the courage to shape a bright future for our students.

Dear Families,
Next week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Purpose. Purpose means you have beliefs about the meaning of life and your life’s purpose. You seek to be part of something greater than yourself.
Purpose gives individuals the sense that they are put on this earth for a reason and that they are somehow connected with humanity or the universe. People who possess a sense of purpose believe that they were put on earth for a reason. That reason can have all kinds of variety. It could be to create a unique invention, bring joy through art or music, or raise their children to become good people. These people have a true calling.
Having a clear sense of purpose in life and believing that you’re connected to a larger meaning gives individuals strength. It allows them to persevere and find courage in trying circumstances or lead with kindness and love even when it’s not reciprocated. Those with a sense of purpose have more meaning in their life -- and are more fulfilled.
To practice and encourage the character strength of purpose with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2), where together you will watch a video, read a quote, and talk about the answers to three questions.
Have a wonderful week!
Finishing the Year Strong!
Thank you to our families for partnering for the success of your child at Brewster! As we progress through the spring trimester we are working together to focus on instruction and avoid class distractions. Please be aware of the following reminders!
- Special celebration or spirit days will be communicated by teachers in advance. Please keep toys, hats, and special items at home unless you have communicated with the teacher for a class celebration or need.
- Pokémon cards are very popular, but often trading becomes difficult for students to understand and can quickly become items that are lost, misplaced, or a distraction from learning. Before or after school use may be monitored by SAC employees for special days, but we ask that our families be aware and help to keep these cherished trading cards at home.
- Smart watches that have text or calling features are considered the same as a cell phone and must remain in the backpack on airplane mode during school hours. Students may use the office phone at anytime to communicate needs with home through the day.
Once again, thank you for your partnership and please feel free to communicate any questions to your teacher regarding specific class needs.
ATTENTION PEDESTRIANS
Crosswalks at Brewster and N. Fairview: Please wait to be crossed by the crossing guard supporting this intersection. Do not cross unattended, thank you!
Please use only the marked and supported cross walk from our side lot to cross your children .
The car loop will move quickly with less foot traffic in the parking lot and utilizing our full length of safe sidewalk as routes to entry points.
Please have students ready to exit on the right side of the vehicle and follow the sidewalk to their entry.
Thank you for keeping our kids safe!
