In Thursday’s Assembly it was delightful to at last be able to give out medals to our winning netball and hockey teams in Years 7, 8 and 9 who continue to dominate the local RBWM leagues - congratulations to them and I am sure that the same will be occurring in athletics and tennis later this term.

“Take every chance, drop every fear and always reach for the stars!”

In a week where many Year 6s all over the country have been sitting SATs (ones which even teachers cannot understand!), our Year 6 class visited the British Museum for a day of Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Greece and an altogether day of culture. The girls represented Claires Court with exemplary behaviour and manners.

Sunflower seeds have started to grow, lettuce is appearing and cress has gone home to be enjoyed on salads or in sandwiches. The raised beds have been prepared ready for planting by the children with lots of help from their teachers so the feeling of summer has arrived. Let’s hope we have a successful growing season!

Benefits of a Good Night's Sleep

Last week and this week, girls in KS3 have discussed in their PSHEE lessons the benefits of a good night's sleep in preparation for exams. They have all been given a copy of the handout that can be found in the Parent Pointers area of the website. Form tutors have been concerned about the lateness of some bedtimes!

Fond Farewell

After eight years of supervising the evening cleaners we say a fond farewell to Sharon Armatage who is hanging up her marigolds. All the staff and team at College Avenue wish her a happy retirement. Although it might not be a quiet one as you may just spot Sharon on the back of a motorbike driven by her ex-military husband as they go round the country helping to raise funds for charity or just simply dipping her toes in the sea when visiting her south coast caravan.
Good luck Sharon and thank you.
