Semester in Review
The first semester of this school year was jam packed with learning experiences and fun. Fowler Grade School is such a positive place to be!
Click the link below to visit this Padlet which highlights our amazing first semester.
Shark Tank
Students completed a project-based unit titled Entrepreneurs and Inventors. Throughout the unit they learned new vocabulary and concepts including brainstorming, sketching, blueprints, prototypes, modifications, patents, symmetry, and silhouettes. At the conclusion of the unit, students created an invention of their own that addressed one of the three purposes of inventing: to solve a problem, to improve the world, or to enjoy the creative process. They created prototypes and pitched their inventions to the "sharks" who challenged their thinking and provided feedback. Inventions ranged from a Pillow Backpack to Flipper Uppers to Underwater Super Goggles. Our students are full of creative ideas!
PK/K Ball Study
The preschool Creative Curriculum involves students in learning through inquiry-based units and hands-on learning experiences. The class recently completed a study on balls. They demonstrated their learning by inviting family members into the classroom to join them in some of the explorations they had completed in class.
