Dear Families,
It's hard to believe that we have made it to June already. This has definitely been a year for the record books! Thank you all for your support through the many adjustments to this school year. We hope that all of you have completed your school decision forms and look forward to the start of a 5 day a week full day of school next year. School calendars have been approved by our BOE for the next two years and can be found on the main FCPS webpage for those who like to plan ahead. The first day of school for the 2021-2022 school year is August 18 for students.
As we enter the last two weeks of school, please continue to check in on your student(s) to make sure they are completing their assignments, attending during virtual days, staying engaged in their lessons, and following our school rules for safety.
While there have been some changes to face coverings outside of FCPS we are still requiring facing coverings in the building at all times with the exception of lunch. Please help us in reminding your children of the expectations.
We will also be collecting all chromebook devices at the end of this school year. All students who are in the building on Thursday, June 17 will turn in their chromebook by the end of the school day. Students who are in Cohort A or all Virtual can drop their chromebooks off to school on Thursday, June 17 from 2:00 to 5:00 following instruction or on Friday, June, 18th from 7:00- 5:00.
We will send one final newsletter on June 18 where we will have summer activities listed for students to use to practice their reading and math skills over the summer.
Thank you again for all of your support this year!
Yours in education,
Mrs. Schwiegerath and Mrs. Putnam

We are looking for committed, caring and collaborative individuals to help serve on a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Board. We believe a PTA plays an important role in the lives of the students, families and staff in our schools. We know that building a strong PTA will benefit our entire school community.
Please contact Heather Putnam (heather.putnam@fcps.org or 240-236-0900) if you are interested in supporting our Thurmont Elementary & Primary Schools (TEPS) PTA.
