Mrs. Bearden's Weekly Update
April 12, 2021
Dear Eagle Canyon Families,
Thank you to the In-Person families for a smooth transition last week with all of the students on campus. As a reminder, if your child or someone in your home is experiencing COVID-like symptoms, please keep your child at home. It is important we work together to keep our students and staff safe.
Please help us to ensure we are maintaining safe distances and limiting the number of people on campus at drop-off and dismissal. ALL parents in Grades 1 - 6 will need to either drop their children off or meet after school at the Pedestrian Gate or the Bus Gate if they are walkers or drive-in and drop off/pick up their children at the Cabanas. Only KINDERGARTEN and SDC parents may park and walk their children to the gate. Be sure to communicate with your child where you will meet them after school. Please do not allow or encourage your children to walk in the parking lot or cross in front of cars. We must work together to keep everyone safe.
K-2 PARENTS
Your children will take the Essential Standards Assessment #3 (ESA #3) April 19 - May 20. K-1 Distance Learning Parents, please plan to pick up ESA #3 this week from our school office. Your child's teacher will let you know when the assessments will be given so you can ensure your child gets plenty of rest and has a healthy breakfast.
SAFETY REMINDER
Masks and physical distancing are a requirement when on any Chino Valley Unified campus. Thank you for your support!
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs. Bearden

6TH GRADE PARENTS
Distance Learning Parents, please plan to stop by the office as soon as possible to pick up your child's packet.
In order to sign up for electives, you will need to have your child log in to their Aeries portal to select their courses. Click on the link below to access a video tutorial. More information will be coming in regards to the timeline for selecting electives.
The following letter from Mr. Todd Finkbiner was sent last week.
Hello Incoming Canyon Hills Families,
My name is Todd Finkbiner and I am the proud principal of Canyon Hills Junior High School. As we prepare for our transition from elementary school to junior high school, I have asked your site principal to assist me in communicating important upcoming dates and events with you.
Below you will find two action items.
First, we are excited to announce that on Monday, April 12, Canyon Hills JHS will be posting information regarding our Leadership, Renaissance, and Yearbook classes on our school website! APRIL CORE ESSENTIAL - PEACE
ATTENDANCE
Families are beginning to receive letters regarding their child's attendance. Please understand, Distance Learning teachers are required to document their students' engagement during live instruction. Students are required to remain present in their virtual class during live instruction. When students turn their cameras off and do not respond when called on to participate in a class discussion, they are considered absent.
Please help us by talking with your children about the importance of being engaged in daily instruction and learning activities. Also talk to them about only opening tabs their teachers ask them to open. It is very easy for students to open video games in other tabs, but look like they are engaged in live instruction. We need to work together to prevent learning loss during Distance Learning. It will take everyone working together to help our students succeed. Thank you for your help!
Eagle Canyon Yearbooks
Eagle Canyon Yearbooks are on sale now! New this year, the yearbook will have a hardcover. If you are ready to place your order, stop by the Eagle Canyon office to fill out an order form. Prices have increased to $30. In order to guarantee your child receives a yearbook, be sure to pre-order the yearbook.

Eagle Canyon's Service Project
Support Eagle Canyon
Click on the Box Top Graphic to watch a Box Top video with information regarding a new update where we can give different classrooms credit for our Box Tops. Beginning this week, be sure to give your child's class credit.
A popular fundraising opportunity all families can support is Box Tops. Download the Box Top app on your phone. All you have to do is scan your receipts on the Box Top app within 14 days of the purchase. The app will let you know if any of the items purchased qualify for credit. If so, we earn 10 cents per product.
As of today, our school has earned $101.30 this year. Our goal is to earn $1,000.00. If you also get the coupons, please turn them into the school office. Thank you in advance for your support!
