Library Happenings
Parent Edition - February 2013
February is "I Love to Read" Month
Celebrate "I Love to Read Month" in February by reading books with your child. Students at Heritage Elementary School visit the library every week to listen to books and to learn about the library. They also have an opportunity to choose new books to borrow each week. Ask your child what he or she has borrowed from the library. Find time to listen to your child read, or read TO your child.
Celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday March 1!
Dr. Seuss has a birthday on March 2. That falls on a Saturday this year, so Heritage Elementary School will celebrate Friday, March 1. The whole week before this author and illustrator's birthday will be all about reading and about honoring Dr. Seuss. Look for informational flyers that tell what kids can wear to school each day to show their support of all things SEUSS!
Book Fair Coming in March!
Our next Scholastic Book Fair will be at Heritage March 18-22. Students will have an opportunity to visit the school library each day during recess to shop for books and other items. Flyers and brochures will go home with students beginning the first week of March.
