Coffee... family of Rachel Stoneberg!

Halloween at Emerson
Dear Emerson Community,
We encourage families to please keep costumes simple and easy to change into if a student is changing at school. We are highly limited in space, and it is most convenient if students can put costumes on over their regular clothes. Please remember that costumes and makeup must be school appropriate. Anything that represents a weapon, gore or violence of any kind will not be allowed. For safety reasons (and so that things don't get lost) please leave masks and accessories at home.
If parents wish to sign students out and take them home to change over the lunch hour,
- ADK students will be dismissed at 11:30 and should return at 12:30.
- First-Fifth graders may be picked up at 12:00 and should return at 12:55.
- We do not have the staffing to run back and forth to let students in and out, so sticking to this schedule is appreciated.
Class parties begin at 2:20. Only assigned PTA parent volunteers should plan on being in the classroom at that time.
Halloween Rain Plan:
For safety reasons there will not be a parade for families if it rains.
Classroom parties take place from 2:20-3:20.

Veteran's Day

On the lookout for....
2nd grade is very excited to hold our first Market Day, where students will produce and sell their own goods and services. We are in need of some materials for students to be able to make their goods to sell. We are looking for: Paper towel and toilet paper rolls, popsicle sticks, string, beads (and other materials to make bracelets and necklaces). Thank you so much for helping us with our project! -Mrs. Stoneberg and Miss. Buzzard.

Wellness Tip from the Health Office
What About Those Germs?
What are the ten most common ways that germs are spread? -- With your ten fingers! Most germs that cause illnesses like colds, flu, stomachaches, and diarrhea enter your body through your mouth. Many of these germs are transported to your mouth by your hands. Frequent handwashing is a very effective way to reduce the spread of germs that can make you sick. Scrub your hands for 15-30 seconds with regular soap and water (you don’t need antibacterial soap), before rinsing. Antibacterial waterless gels can be used if soap and water aren’t available.
