THE AVIATORS
GRIT: Volume 7
Dear Roberts,
John F. Kennedy proclaimed one of the great challenges of the last century. In 1969, he said that this nation will go to the moon by the end of this decade. Why is this such a bold statement? At this moment and time in our nation's history, we did not have the resources to accomplish this bold goal. Regardless of the lack of resources, the world changed after the proclamation. To support this goal, the nation started working harder than ever to meet the demands of this bold challenge.
I want you to understand that growth is an outcome of challenges. Roberts teachers, this school believes that all students deserve challenging lessons and are capable of the extraordinary. Last year we earned 4 distinctions, and I believe we will get all 6 this year. This is a bold goal, but we can make it happen. By radically shifting our mindset and utilizing by student, by standard data, we will be able to take the leap to the next level. In fact, both our traditional and Connect classes are hyper focused on real-time data. We must continue to use real-time data to PERSONALIZE small group instruction.
At Roberts we embrace hard work, but I know you would not want it any other way. I believe in my heart that you are the right teachers at the right time to make the impossible happen. You are loved and your voice matters. Thank you for making this your home. My team and I will continue to stand with you. Live in your boldness. Live for the challenges. You can wear your Houston Astros shirt this Wednesday and Friday.
Grateful,
Jorly

To the Students , Staff, and Parents at Mountain Gap P-8,
I want to recognize Mountain Gap P-8 School for helping our school with several hundreds of backpacks. Mountain Gap P-8 is under the great leadership of Mrs. Bardwell. The school is Huntsville, Alabama. There are no words that can truly describe the impact you will make on our students who lost everything in the flood. Your school will be remembered for your infectious spirit of giving. What your community has done for us will be forged in our story forever. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being willing to help. Because of your school community’s kind donation, our school is planning to help give all backpacks to students who lost everything.
