Mrs. Badgett's Weekly Update

Week of February 15th

Happy Tuesday!! Please return Camp Tecumseh field trip forms as soon as possible. The money is not due until March 25th, but I would like to have all forms turned in by this Friday! Please enjoy the pictures from our Valentine's Day celebration! A HUGE thank you to all the parents (especially Mrs. Moller) that contributed items or time to make the event such a success!!

Below is an overview for this week. As always, please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great week!!

This week we will be focusing on explicit details in passages. We will be completing a Nearpod activity which will include a story and comprehension questions.

Your child will also be reading a novel, based on his/her reading level, with a small group of students. We are working on answering higher-level questions over our reading by analyzing, evaluating, and creating.

We will also be reading passages. Please reference Canvas to view the articles. There is a link to Canvas below.

We are beginning Unit 9 (Fractions, Decimals, and Percents) this week. The students will be creating quizzes as a real-world experience of fractions, decimals, and percents. They will calculate the scores for the students. Since your child is able to bring his/her iPad home a couple times of week, please make sure he/she is practicing math facts at home.

We will focus on the Essential Question of "How do readers/writers change their approach for different types of information?" We will finish our Famous Hoosier pieces this week. The students that have completed their essays will continue to work on turning their work into documentaries!

Your child will have homework each night. The reading log is due on Friday. Also, MobyMax is a great website for your child to practice at his/her instructional level. The link is below.
