Principal's Message
Wow! I would like to thank our fabulous families for an amazing Teacher Appreciation week! The yummy treats, flowers, heartfelt notes, and creative pampering have really made this week extraordinary for our teachers and staff! We appreciate all of the extras this week, and MANY other times during the year, that our PTO and school community provides for our teachers.
I would also like to personally thank our parents and other family members for supporting our schools by voting for the referendum. This is an exciting time for HSE schools, and as a result of this vote, New Britton will add 2 more classes for the 2016-2017 school year to reduce class size. I am also in the process of reviewing applications and professional materials for our new Assistant Principal position. I am impressed with the quality candidates from which we will be able to select. We have been busy putting the finishing touches on our teaching and learning for this year while at the same time starting to prepare for next year.
We had our final PTO meeting of the year this past Tuesday. We are eager to embark on our continued collaborative journey next year. We discussed the importance of keeping our valued traditions and events as well as adding some new opportunities for families to connect and students to share their learning with our community. There are still some leadership opportunities available. If you are interested, please contact Sarah Johnson at johnson10874@sbcglobal.net.
Please do not forget to Hang Ten with Our Favorite Authors on Tuesday, May 10th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Our student authors are excited to share their published books with you!
As always, thank you for partnering with us in education. Have a wonderful weekend -- Happy Mother's Day!
Sincerely,
Lori Mankin
