Road to Success Club -Begins Tuesday 9/27/22

What: After school tutoring with volunteers from Romeo High School National Honor Society and SERVE Who: Romeo Middle School students Grades 6 to 8. We will need to limit our participants to no more than 40 students. Please be sure to complete your participation form ASAP and return it to the counseling office. If spots are filled we will begin a waitlist.

When: The RSC will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:10 until 4:00. Students may attend both days or just one day. They must indicate on their participation form which days they will attend.

Where: Romeo Middle School Media Center

How: All Participants must complete the participation form and return it to the counseling office before they are able to attend. We will meet every Tuesday and Thursday. Students will need to have transportation to get home. If your student participates they will need to be picked up at 4:00 on the west side of the building outside of the media center.

We want this to be an opportunity for all of our students to succeed. All school rules will be followed. Please feel free to contact Shelley Bjorkstrand (shelley.bjorkstrand@romeok12.org) if you have any questions.

Are you curious about drama, acting, and the theater arts? Well, we've got something for you… Drama Club “Etc.” This exciting club is for all interested 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. No prior knowledge or experience necessary. The club will meet Mondays and Thursdays after school from 3:15 until 4:45 in the auditorium beginning September 26th through December 1st. Students will have fun exploring teacher-led drama games and activities to learn acting concepts in a safe environment. Anyone interested in joining will need to fill out a permission slip linked below. This begins Monday, September 26th. Be sure to have your ride promptly at 4:45 for pick up at door 26 at the back parking lot. We look forward to seeing you there!

Art Club is an opportunity to use the art room 502 on a periodic basis to create art. Join either Mr. Kerschenheiter on Mondays or Mrs. Delcourt on Thursdays. All grade levels welcome. It is loads of fun!

Fall is here and that means football! Register today to be a part of the intramural football league where students get an opportunity to exercise and have some fun!

Girls Tennis: Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15-4:15 pm

This is a wonderful opportunity to make connections with other students, get some exercise, and learn a new sport. There will be a limited number of rackets available. You are encouraged to bring your own as well as a water bottle. This is not affiliated with Coach Burr’s Spring Tennis Club.

We had many talented girls try out for the 7th and 8th grade

volleyball teams this year. Thanks to everyone who came to

the tryouts. Congratulations to the following

girls who make up this year’s RMS teams.

• RMS Counselors are holding a New Student Celebration for each grade level! An invitation will be handed out to all new RMS students. This will be a great opportunity for new students to connect with others, get to know counselors and administrators, and have a little fun!

• 6th grade: Friday, September 16th

• 7th grade: Wednesday, September 14th

• 8th grade: Monday, September 19th

• Next week, Mrs. Bjorkstrand will be visiting 6th grade advisory classes where she will introduce herself and explain what a school counselor does.

• As the seasons change and busy schedules continue ahead, we all need to take some time for self-care. Here are a few ideas to start the day off right, get moving, and have fun!
