CHE Update for 4/16

Coyote Staff Update

2018-2019 Moves

With the arrival of 4 new classes and an additional 1st grade class for the new school year, I am working through some proposed changes to classroom and grade locations. I have yet to finalize changes but I definitely want to give you a heads up that changes are in the works. The purpose of these changes include balancing out the sides of the school and in making sure that all the newly arriving classrooms have ample opportunity to be near general ed peers. This means classes will move and that is NEVER easy but at this point, it is necessary. Be on the lookout for a draft plan and as always, feel free to reach out or to drop by to talk. Some of you have already done that =)

CAASPP Testing

One more week and we are a go for CAASPP! Shelley Ghannam sent an email yesterday with a quick guide and all the important information you need. It is really important that you read that email and that you keep it at the forefront of your email box during testing. It has specific directions for testing and what to do in case of an issue. Thanks for all of your hard work!!

Shout Out to Mrs. Leamy and Mrs. Graham for sitting in on an interview panel last week for first grade. We didn't find a candidate but I believe we will in our next round!

Shout out to Mrs. Noble for taking on the rotating STEAM cart project and for organizing it and getting it off the ground. Students are clearly excited!

Shout out to Ms. Carnahan for being so great with student leadership, especially when I can't make it down to the meeting. Much appreciated!

Shout out to Ms. Wilcox for encouraging several wonderful students to get a student newsletter off the ground. I have the first version ready to go out today!

Report Cards for 2018-2019!

Starting next year, all K-8 schools will no longer be printing report cards and parents will have access to those report cards electronically. Parents who prefer a printed card or don't have access to the internet will be able to request a printed version from the main office. Site admin and clerical staff still has some training to go through and we will definitely be educating parents but we wanted to give you a heads up now as this will be coming!
