Scholastic Book Fair Coming Soon!
Dear Parents and Families:
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place in the DCD Library from May 15 -May 19th. Times are as follows:
Monday, May 15th: 9:00AM -3:00PM
Tuesday, May 16th: 9:00AM -3:00PM
Wednesday, May 17th: 10:00AM -3:00PM
Thursday, May 18th: 9:00AM-3:00PM & 6:00PM-8:00PM (Open to Public only on Thursday)
Friday, May 19th: 9:00AM -3:00PM
Thursday is the only day that the Book Fair is open to the Public. If you would like to shop with your child, please plan to come during open hours on Thursday. Please feel free to come in and support the library by purchasing items at the Book Fair on Thursday. This is the only day and evening set aside for the public. Please sign in at the office, and keep your visit to the Book Fair while school is in session. Please be mindful that there will be a concert going on in the evening and do not let your children wander.
This year, say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. This is the recommended way of giving your children money for the Fair. It limits their purchases and helps them keep track of their cash. PLEASE set up an eWallet as soon as possible before the Fair. eWallet is ideal for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
We will be sending a link to the Online Book Fair in the next Wednesday Weekly and also a link to volunteer for the Book Fair. We can’t hold this fair without volunteers! Pamphlets will be coming home the Thursday before the fair. We can’t guarantee all the books will be at the fair, but you definitely will have a good chance of buying them online if they aren’t!
The countdown to more Bookjoy is on! Catch you at the Fair!
Happy reading,

Next week, 5th, 6th and 7th graders will be hearing information about elective class options for the 23-24 School year during presentations given by Mrs. Barker. Students should discuss with their families their options to make the best selection. Please see the attached slideshow for more information.
