Happiness Challenge...
Over time, our brains program our mindset and outlook – often without us even realizing it’s happening. Too often, many of us get caught up in the news, job struggles, problems with family and friends or just a bad outlook. It’s been said that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. How we choose to react to what happens impacts the mindset we have.
What if I had a challenge for you? That over the course of 30 days, you could be on your way to a healthier and more fulfilled mindset. Would that be worth it to you?
The key to this happiness advantage is to be grateful.
The great thing about being grateful is it requires very little time or money. There are so many blessings in all our lives and taking inventory of those blessings will bring positivity into your life. If we are grateful, we will attract the things we want in our lives. If we focus and think about something, it will by nature attract more of it to us.
Being grateful will help us with relationships. Think about how you feel when someone sincerely expresses gratitude for something you have done for them.
People that are grateful are also more apt to take on new challenges with a positive outlook and limit fear from holding them back.
Having a grateful mindset acts as a filter against negativity. Yes, you can train your brain to look at the glass half-full.
For the next 30 days challenge yourself to do the following:
- Three Gratitude’s: For the next 30 days, first thing when you wake up, think of three things you are grateful for. This will start the reprogramming of your thoughts to focus on positive things in your life. Three unique things every day for 30 days!
- Twice a week for the next 30 days, share with someone else why you are grateful for them or for what they have done for you.
- Do something active (for a minimum of 20 minutes) every day for the next 30 days.
- Reflection: Spend 5 minutes for the next 30 day’s reflecting on your day – clear your mind (shut off the electronics) and focus on yourself.
- Once a week for the next 30 days, do something for someone else without seeking praise or to be paid back (even better to do something nice and no one knows it was you).
If you take the happiness advantage seriously, it will lead to a better mindset and a more fulfilled life. It may also be beneficial to ask someone else to do the challenge with you.
Good luck!!!
