Early Dismissal

Thursday, June 17th and Friday, June 18th are early dismissal days for students. Dismissal for students will begin at 11:00.

Note from Nurse Caldwell

Parents if your student has any medications in the health room, please make sure to pick them up by 12:00 PM Friday, June 18th. Any medications not picked up will be destroyed after that date.

Additionally, if your student has any medical condition listed in power school that may require the assistance of the nurse or special restrictions while at school, please check your students backpack for a packet from Nurse Caldwell. The forms enclosed should be completed over the summer by your student's physician (and parent) and returned to your school nurse at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.

Report Cards

Report cards will be viewable on PowerSchool on June 18th at 2:00pm. Please be patient if you can't initially get into the system right at 2:00. Sometimes there is a gradual release to different students through the system, so it may take a few minutes for everyone to get access.

21-22 Literacy Lab!

We are using one of our available spaces next year to set up a Literacy Lab for students and teachers to use. This will be a space that is literacy rich where teachers can take their classrooms and spend time reading and writing. If you have any gently used books, beanbags, chairs, or pillows that you are not in need of moving forward, we would love to utilize them in our Literacy Lab! You or your student can just drop them off with our front office and we will take care of it. Thank you!

2021-2022 School Year Parent Information to Support Student Placement Survey

The form in the button below is used to help us decide on the best teacher match for your child - please make sure to fill it out once for each child that you have at FMES. This is intended for parents of students currently in grades 1-4. Please do not request a particular teacher or request your child be placed with a particular friend. If there are concerns about pairing with other students due to neighborhood issues, past school years, etc. please include that in the last question or contact Mr. Griffin directly at

FMVA Student Device Return

All FMVA student Chromebooks, Chargers, and Hot Spots are due to FMES by June 18th.

Please return devices, along with chargers, to FMES at 192 Springfield Parkway by 12:00pm on June 18th.

Devices must be checked in before the end of the school year for inventory and updates, even if your student is continuing in the FMVA next year. You will have the opportunity to request devices when the 2021-2022 school year begins.

If you are unavailable to turn in devices on either June 17th or June 18th (the last two days of school - both are 1/2 days for students), please contact FMES at 547-7546 to make arrangements.

21-22 Bus Rider Registration

The school district has opened registration for bus transportation for next school year. If you are in need of bus transportation, please fill out the linked form below.

#BeehindTheMask Project

This year has brought about a new challenge in our Junior Jacket Community. With masks, visitor restrictions, and the inability to meet in large groups as a school community, it has been difficult to get to know one another. We wanted to continue building our sense of community and bring everyone together like the amazing family we are. So we decided to do a little project called "Bee-hind the Mask".

Each week, from now until the end of the school year, we will spotlight several staff members, using a picture and their answers to a fun survey we sent out for everyone to complete. Hopefully we will all be able to be together in person again soon, but until then, please enjoy getting to know our Junior Jacket Staff a little bit better!

This week we are featuring Adrienne Shipp (2nd Grade Teacher), Angela Stulginsky (Occupational Therapist), and Michelle Walker (Technology Teacher).

District COVID Protocols

If you have any questions about whether or not your child should quarantine, please be sure to review our district Return to School Guide. There are links in the buttons below. If you still have questions, please be sure to contact Nurse Cindy Caldwell, or any of your 3 school administrators for clarification.

Celebration Baskets

When ordering celebration baskets, please make sure to try to place the order roughly two weeks in advance. This allows time for our cafeteria staff to receive the information and prepare the order. The link to order the baskets is located below in the 'Click here to order celebration baskets' button.

Attendance Reminder

If your student is going to be absent, please email their teacher and copy the attendance clerk, Erin Swetta at Included in the note should be your student’s first and last name and the reason for their absence. If the absence is related to an illness, please also copy Nurse Caldwell at If your student is seen by a doctor, please send in the doctor’s excuse with your student or email them directly to Ms. Swetta. Thank you for helping us keep up to date and accurate records.

Information from our School Nurse

If there is ANY household member or person that you or your family is in close contact with that has tested positive for Covid, please make sure to notify the school nurse at or 803-548-8291. If there is a positive case in the household, we must quarantine all family members within the household per SC DHEC and FMSD Covid Return to School Protocol.
