“HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT”
The school counselors attended a hands-on presentation called "Hidden in Plain Sight" presented by Evelyn Rodriguez who is the Drug Free Communities Coordinator for the Lawrence Methuen Community Coalition.
The purpose of the presentation is to sample an exhibit that is constructed to be the bedroom of the average teenager and to become aware of what items one should be watching for to help initiate conversations around substance abuse, underage drinking, eating disorders, sexual activity and more.
A helpful website was given for more information regarding the everyday items teenagers can buy online to "hide" their stashes: POWERTOTHEPARENT.ORG
