Howdy Hounds!
STAAR testing this week was a success, and we could not be more proud of our Hounds! If you have a student in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade...we hope they came home on Monday raving about the STAAR carnival! Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped make it a success. Data from these assessments provides us with valuable information about your child's progress and our work as educators to ensure that we are effectively meeting their needs. While our school receives a state accountability rating based on these scores, we are also provided detailed reports that break down individual learning objectives for each student so that we can analyze concepts students have and have not mastered, helping us to build powerful professional development and research instructional resources to best support our students. The STAAR test is one of several data points we use to measure growth in our kids, and we are already super proud of there progress this year!
Next week kicks off our Hound Hustle Spirit Week! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the generous donations we have received. We are looking forward to using funds to support outdoor learning areas, updating our science lab, and working on campus beautification projects. Today, your students will be bringing home their Hound Hustle t-shirts. Be sure to check out the flyer below for more information about these shirts and spirit week! Also, if you plan to join us for the Hound Hustle on Friday, May 20th be sure to complete the RSVP in the link below so that we can have your Raptor Badge preprinted.
Finally...we have a principal's challenge for the the Hound Hustle this weekend! The three students that raise the most money between 3:00pm today and 8:00pm on Sunday will win a special lunch with the principal! I can't wait to hang out with some of our hounds!
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Bethany Cunningham
Principal

School Meals...
Lamar CISD has announced its participation in the Seamless Summer Option for the 2021-2022 school year, offering healthy meals every school day to all students at no cost.
Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.
While no application or eligibility determination is required for our students to receive free meals this school year, income eligibility requirements will likely resume in the 2022-2023 school year.
Extra lunch entrees and a la carte items are not included with the no cost meals.
