Description: PTSD is when you have a past event that is traumatizing. It affects your life. This is most common with veterans that have been in combat. They remember traumatizing events being in war and watching lots of people die. The people with PTSD may feel stressed when they hear, see, or thinking of something that resembles that event. This typically comes from stressful past situations.
Signs and Symptoms are flashbacks, bad dreams, frightening thoughts, feeling tense, difficulty sleeping, angry outbursts, and being easily startled.
Statistics for PTSD are that one in every three returning soldiers are diagnosed with it. 1,100 troops have killed themselves since 2006.
