For Your Information and Action
Quarter 2 Master Schedules: Click here for the Quarter 2 Schedules. Please note the duty schedule in particular (3rd tab on the bottom). High school study halls will continue to be in the cafeteria while middle school study halls will be in classroom--this change is based on feedback we got from quarter 1. If you have lunch duty, please note which lunches you have been assigned to. Thank you!
Special Education Q&A: It seems like there are questions about who to go to with questions about IEPs and 504s as these subjects are complex. Please click here for a list of issues and who is responsible for resolving your concerns.
Discipline Referrals: We are receiving some minor and major discipline write ups done by paras which is fine. In these cases, it is expected that the classroom teacher call home about these reported behaviors. Admin will reach out to the classroom teachers to confirm parent contact after a discipline write up from a para is received.
Field Trip Permission Form: The field trip permission form has been updated on the drive to be one page for parents instead of two.
Shelter In Place Announcements: With Trooper Carmichael’s suggestion, we will now give a reason for Shelter in Place when we do the announcement. We aren’t going to go into lengthy details, but the reasons could include:
Medical reasons (ambulance needs to come, medical distress in a hallway, etc).
Concerning activity in the community.
Maintenance need (leak, dangerous spill, etc)
Environmental issue outside
Weather Emergency
Locking Doors: From our training with Trooper Carmichael, it makes to keep doors locked including the library and cafeteria doors. It is okay for these doors to be propped open, but in the event of an emergency and they needed to be closed right away, it's better to save the time from locking them and then closing them--if they can just close and be locked, it decreases the chance of someone unwanted entering the space.
Night Custodians: We find ourselves down a night custodian again. The last time we had to hire for this position, it took over two months to find a replacement. We are conducting a search for a replacement, but in the meantime, we will hire a service to complete the cleaning on the first floor. Please let me know if rooms are cleaned to your satisfaction or if they aren’t.
Student Activities Audit: The Student Activities Audit went well this year--thank you for your diligence with receipts, no reimbursements, and keeping accurate book keeping. Also, thank you Sue for keeping it all together.
Advisory Theme Switch: The March advisory theme and January advisory theme will switch due to some great job shadow opportunities for March. January will now be “how the brain works” and March will be “career” month. Also, because college month is over, the door decor can come down.
Financial Disclosures: The financial disclosures for travel or receiving gifts are uploaded on the server under “disclosures” in the “District Forms” folder.
Commissioner's Visit: Due to lack of interest, the Commissioner's Visit is cancelled.
