Big Buddy Little Buddy Program

This year we have 26 Big Buddies and 22 Little Buddies participating in the mentoring program. We are actually looking for more Little Buddies to participate, so if any instructors or parents would like to nominate an elementary student to participate contact the main office.

National Honor Society Inductees

On October 9, 2018 Hopewell-Loudon inducted 29 NHS students at our annual ceremony. This is the largest class ever inducted at H-L since the inception of NHS at H-L in 1974.

BVC Champions

Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country teams both won the BVC title! Also, the junior high girls XC team won the BVC. A special congratulations goes out to Jordan Foster for winning the distinction of BVC Boys Runner of the Year!

9th Grade Manufacturing Tour

Area 9th grade students were able to participate in the 3rd Annual Manufacturing Showcase at the Hemminger Center on Tiffin University's campus. The program is designed to allow students to meet and learn about area manufacturing jobs and opportunities. Students worked in small groups at stations hosted by area businesses and personnel and learned about positive interviewing skills, teamwork, and how manufacturing has changed over the years.

H-L Fishing Club

The fishing club met at the Tile Yard on Tuesday 10/9.... 13 members attended and worked on casting, techniques, and had a lot of fun helping each other learn. The weather was great and Cole McDonald caught the biggest bass of the evening. Anyone that wants to join can still contact Coach Daniel and come out with us anytime.

High School Band Day

The Chieftain Band participated in Tiffin University's inaugural High School Band Day on Saturday, 10/13 at Frost Kalnow Stadium. The band had the opportunity to experience marching band at the college level. It was an exciting day and a valuable learning experience.

Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership

Attention Sophomores every year Hopewell-Loudon sends one student to represent our school at the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Seminar. Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership is one of the oldest and most prominent youth leadership organizations in the world. The seminar is for the student who feels they are a strong leader, has the courage to speak up for their beliefs, has concern for others, and is interested in improving their skills in critical thinking, goal setting and would like to realize the importance of enhancing their leadership skills. Please see Mrs. Hendrix in the guidance office for an application.

Attention students grades 7-12 Next Year! We are having our annual CCP (College Credit Plus) meeting in the Auditoria on

November 1st at 6:00 p.m. This meeting will be presented by Mr. David Janik, Director of Pre-College Programs at Bowling Green State University! Mr. Janik will present how CCP works and what you need to do to be eligible to participate in the program. Representative from Bowling Green State University, Heidelberg University, Tiffin University, Findlay University, Owens Community College, Terra Community College and Sentinel Career Center will be available for students and parents to ask questions. Blood Drive

Wednesday, October 10, the Hopewell_Loudon NHS and Elementary School hosted a blood drive in memory of the Rainey family. The drive was a huge success, with 76 presenting donors and 55 total units. Thank you to all you gave or attempted to donate. Our next blood drive will be March 20.
