November News
From the Principal's Desk.....
I can’t believe how fast this school year is flying by! With the first quarter of school already behind us, I want to again thank you for participating in our parent teacher conferences. It is so great working together as a team to make this school year the best it can be for each child.
This month, our students earned their second PBS celebration for great classroom and school behavior. Students had a fun time in the gym participating in Pumpkin Races! We are already excited for our next PBS celebration!
Parents, please be advised that with the weather change comes the need for warm jackets or coats at recess time. Classes go outside everyday unless it is raining and students need to be prepared for the weather change. Be sure to send the appropriate clothing to school and safe shoes to help insure that your child is comfortable during the recess break. Thank you!
Library News
Remember to have your children return their library books on checkout day so they may continue to bring books home. Reading to your child is a great way to help them in school!

Title News
The Title one teachers are very thankful for the opportunity to meet with parents during Parent Teacher Conferences. The holidays can be a busy time however, it is still important to take time to read with your child.
READING TIP of The Month: While reading, if your child comes to a word they do not know, ask them “what would make sense in the story?” Then ask your child to “tap out” the sounds in the word. This is a strategy used in Fundations to help children to problem solve unknown words. A couple of good books for this time of year are:
Fried Feathers for Thanksgiving by James Stevenson
One Terrific Thanksgiving by Marjorie Sharmat
Happy Reading!
