February Month of Self Care
Week 1
Why Self Care?
February is a hectic month to say the least! Report cards, progress reports, cold weather, students' needs, our kid's needs, our significant other's needs, our parents needs. Life is hard! I constantly read articles on self-care, goal setting, and healthy living, partly for interest and partly for my own spiritual growth. They are usually reminders that taking care of myself first is not only okay, but necessary in order to get through the day to day stresses of life.
One thing I have always felt inspired by is the way everyone at Bear Tavern takes care of one another. This is my way of giving back. I hope that these resources are helpful and fun. No added pressure here, just some ideas and reminders when you need some inspiration of your own. Please feel free to send me articles, links or quotes to include in the next week's edition.
In good health!

TED TALK ON HOW TO THINK ABOUT STRESS
Talk/Meditation by Tara Brach, Ph.D., renowned leader in meditation
Our habitual view of stress is that it is a bad thing, an obstacle to healthy living and spiritual realization. These two talks look at how our way of relating to stress determines our happiness, and invites listeners to engage with practices that radically shift our response to stress and bring a healing and freeing evolution of consciousness.
