“The Holiday Season is a perfect time to reflect on our blessings and seek out ways to make life better for those around us.”- Terri Marshall
As we reflect on this past year, we acknowledge how grateful and appreciative we are for each and every one of you. Thank you for all that you do for Holly Academy, as well as, your continued support and partnership.
The HA Staff and Board of Directors wish you a joyous holiday season filled with peace and cheer in the New Year.
Since August 31st, Holly Academy has been one of a small number of schools open full time, face-to-face. Our staff has worked so diligently to overcome the challenge of teaching in a pandemic. Due to our sense of community we have come out of this challenge stronger than we started. I believe that everyone has earned a much needed break for the next two weeks. I am asking our staff to step away from school fully during this time off. I am asking that you refrain from contacting them starting tomorrow until January 4th. We will all be refreshed and ready to take on the new year when we return to teaching and learning. Power of the Pack!
If you or your Husky receives a positive COVID result, please contact the school as soon as possible. On a weekend or in the evening, you can email any of the administrators. There are measures that we have to take immediately, including contacting the health department if a student tests positive. Thank you.
Confirmed Case: A person with laboratory confirmation of COVID-19 infection, irrespective of clinical signs and symptoms.
Seasons Greetings, Huskies! Upon our return from winter break, Holly Academy students will begin the winter round of NWEA testing. All testing will all occur virtually. NWEA testing is a requirement for both CMU and the Michigan Department of Education. Testing will take priority over Zoom classes. If a student in your home is scheduled to test, please ensure that they are prepared for their testing session(s). Specific information regarding testing will be sent out to families by January 5th.
Middle school students will test January 7th and 8th.
Third through fifth grade students will test January 11th and 12th.
Young 5’s through second grade students will test January 13th and 14th.
On testing days, those grade levels testing will not be required to complete remote learning.
Google Classroom is your student’s means to communicate with their teachers. It becomes cumbersome for teachers when parents utilize their student’s email and Google Classroom to correspond with teachers. Please use your personal email to communicate directly with the teachers. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Young 5 through 2nd grade work will be available for pick up in the vestibule beginning Monday, January 4th from 3pm - 6pm. The vestibule will be open Tuesday - Friday of that week from 9am - 6pm.
Have a wonderful break and I look forward to seeing you in the new year!
