February 7th- Since this is a shadow day, we will follow a normal 8:40-4:05 schedule with 1 exception: we will have networking and lunch combined from 11:30-12:30

February 27th- ACT + Writing
February 27th- New Tech @ Night (learners can get volunteer hours for helping us with our open house that is geared towards recruiting current 8th graders)
ASVAB Offered on Campus 3/21/18
Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors,
NTH@C will be offering you the opportunity to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) free of charge on March 21st from 9:30-12:30 in the NTH@C gym.
Please complete the form HERE to let us know whether or not you are interested in participating in this testing. You must complete the form by February 16th. If you respond "yes", then you will receive a follow up e-mail to remind you of the exam a few days before March 21st.

Coppell Community Chinese New Year Event
Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program for 10th-11th grade
This is the first time GWC will offer SIP in Dallas at AT&T and JPMorgan Chase. The early deadline is February 16 and the application closes March 16. Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Programs are FREE 7-week summer programs for rising high school juniors and seniors to learn computer science, get exposure to tech jobs and join a supportive sisterhood of thousands of girls across the US. In the Summer Immersion Program, your students will learn about:

Tech Companies -- They’ll meet female engineers and get an inside look at technical roles in the world’s top companies.

Project-based learning -- They’ll learn computer science through real-world projects in art and storytelling, robotics, video games, websites, apps and more!

Sisterhood -- They’ll work in teams and make lifelong friendships with a supportive and diverse community of thousands of girls.

New York Academy of Sciences STEM Opportunity
We are delighted to announce the open application for year 3 of the 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures program! We've had an amazing second year and are excited to once again offer this unique endeavor designed to encourage more young women to participate and stay in STEM fields. Students work with professional STEM mentors on communication, leadership, critical thinking, and college readiness over the course of 11 months. Everything happens on a free, accessible online platform to maximize flexibility in scheduling. Apply and join this amazing community of female STEM leaders today!
Students in the 1000 Girls program:
- Are between 13-18 years of age
- Identify as female
- Are currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent
- Want to work with a mentor
- Have regular and reliable access to the internet
- Can communicate in English, both oral and written
- Are passionate about one or more STEM fields

Our new mentoring initiative was designed for students and participants of any gender, and follow our three-pillared model of virtual programming: one to one mentorship, coursework for students to develop their 21st century skills, and complete network access for everyone in the program.
