Evolution Of Video Game Systems
Where did video games begin and where are they now?
The First System
The first system was called the brown box. It was created in 1967 and was a home game system that included a brown box to hook up to your T.V and two brown box controllers. Ping-pong, tennis, handball, volleyball, chase games and a light-gun game were all games played on the brown box.
Improving
Video game systems improved immensely starting at 1972 through 2000. Systems like the odyssey, Atari's pong, Original Nintendo, game boy, PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and the PlayStation 2 were created through this time period. 2001 was the turning point for video games everywhere with the release of the Xbox. A system that has 3D graphics that changed everyone's thoughts on gaming. 2002 - 2005 are the dates for the creation of the game boy advance, Nintendo DS, and the Sony's PSP. 2006 was the creation of the GameCube system.
