Principal's Note...
We had our first school-wide meeting this morning and we introduced our new students to our core values of HONEST, EFFORT, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, THOUGHTFULNESS. We also celebrated our students' success in the MMES summer reading program! I was blown away with how dedicated our students were to their summer reading! The highlight was the drawing where we pulled two students' names for Amazon gift cards! Congrats to Cate and Luke who were the grand prize winners!
Mrs. Grella and Mrs. Flood also want to share a message about a project they are organizing for our sister school in Japan. Please see the details below:
Dear Families,
We are planning to send a package to our sister school Shimazu in Kyotanga, Japan. We thought it might be fun to give the students a chance to create, find, and submit their own ideas. They could choose to draw or make something or could donate a small item they think our Japanese friends may not have ever seen or know about. We would like to have all contributions by Friday, September 29, 2017.
We would love if many children as possible participate.
-Mrs. Grella and Mrs. Flood
Have a great weekend!
Best,
John

Thursday, September 14, 2017 is School Picture Day!
All students in grades PK-5 will have their portrait professionally taken indoors along with a class photo with their classmates and teacher. Please be on the lookout for the ordering forms that are coming home in backpacks.

Any interested volunteers should contact April Johnson at April.lynn.johnson@gmail.com or (617)549-7804. She will be in touch with you to provide details if you were selected to be one of our volunteers. Thank you in advance!

Manchester in Bloom Art Exhibit
This past spring, 4th grade students enjoyed a visit from the Manchester Historical Museums director Beth Welin. Beth gave a presentation about the history of Manchester summer “cottages” and the landscape designers who worked on the properties. The students continued this unit by creating large paper-mache flowers and insects. Their work is on display at the Manchester Historical Museum for the public to view. Thursday, September 28 from 5-7 will be the artists reception celebrating the work the students did. Students entering 5th grade, their families, and friends are all welcomed to this event.
