Over the weekend, the country experienced another violent attack targeting the black community. The violence that occurred in Buffalo was challenging to read about, especially as the news is already flooded with images and reports from the war in Ukraine. While Buffalo is certainly far away from us in Hudson, it is a painful reminder of the direction racism can lead to in our society. I imagine students have many questions about what happened. Here are some resources to support conversations at home about the tragedy. Please reach out to a trusted adult staff member if you would like support in processing this news.

Here at Hudson High, we have been working to lift up and publicly display the diversity in our community. There are many identity groups represented within HHS - racial, cultural, linguistic, religious, sexuality, ability. Our school community will continue to embrace all who choose HHS as their school, and we strive to make Nelson Mandela's words a lived reality in our school community.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Did you know that 1 in 5 adolescents live with a mental health condition such as anxiety or depression? Maintaining good mental health plays a key role in our overall well-being. Please stop by our table in the cafeteria during all lunches on Thursday, May 19th to learn more and show your support for others. Free giveaways for all participants. Please see Ms. Gravelle, School Adjustment Counselor, for more information or if you or someone you know might need assistance jlgravelle@hudson.k12.ma.us.
