A Note From Mrs. Waters
We have rescheduled our annual thanksgiving celebration of stone soup to this Thursday. To make the soup, we need everyone's help! Your child had a letter in his/her green home folder telling what he/she signed up to bring. Please bring in the item by Thursday morning. We will be making the soup first thing in the morning and let it simmer until lunch. The students are really looking forward to this lunch, so on Thursday, you will not need to send a lunch with your child.
Don't forget that the Grade 1 concert, "Celebrations Around the World" is this week!
- Date: December 1, Tuesday
- Time: 11:30 AM to 12:10 PM (doors will open at 11:15 AM)
- Location: ASD Theatre
Swimming is over, so please send your child in his/her regular PE clothes.
Report cards will be sent home electronically to you this Thursday from the elementary office.

Hi Lower Elementary!
We're a little more than 2 weeks away from the International Buffet so I wanted to send out some information.
Schedule: Wednesday December 9th
9:30 - PK* 1st
10:00 - K* 2nd
This is slightly different than in years past. The new schedule will help move students through in a more timely manner. Pre-K and K will go through a smaller buffet while 1st and 2nd will go through the main buffet.
Suggestions to help prepare students:
Tell students that they are allowed a certain number of foods.
Remind them that they do not have to take that many, but that is their limit.
Once they have reached their limit, have a parent or teacher they can meet at the end of the buffet.
Ask parent helpers(if applicable) to keep the line moving and help students make quick decisions.
Prepare your class for the large amount of food they are going to see, and the large number of people who will be in the gym.
General Information:
There will be servers to handle the food at the main buffet. Students can point at what they'd like to try.
There will be some servers at the PreK/K buffet. Parent helpers can help serve students as they go through.
Lower elementary teachers will be handed a bag of cutlery and napkins as well as a case of water at the exit of the gym.
Chairs and tables will be set up outside of the HS/MS cafeteria for classes to sit.
It will be up to individual classes to provide parental help as escorts for the buffet if they are desired.
While we specifically ask for NO NUTS we can not guarantee foods will be nut free.
Information to share with parents:
ALL families are asked to contribute food (No sign up)
We need TONS of servers (sign up link in Sahifa)
Information poster is in Sahifa (and attached to this email if you'd like to share it)
This event is not a family event. It is for the students of ASD in conjunction with International Week.
