Prekindergarten
Kindergarten
It was a fun-filled Halloween week in Kindergarten! They used our Science brains to investigate pumpkins and our artistic abilities to make them beautiful! They discovered how pumpkins grows, used pumpkin and Halloween words in writing and even had time for spooky hand and footprint crafts!
2nd Grade
Best "Witch"-es from the Second Grade! They had a MONSTER of a good time creating weird creatures from Play-Doh, pipe cleaners, and feathers! What a great way to celebrate a favorite holiday!
2nd Grade PE
3rd Grade Art
The third grade, every year has a contest to win the EGBDF mnemonic device! This year, Emily Campos won. We will use this device all year!!!
5th Grade PE
After six weeks of training, our 5th graders ran a mile for time with the goal of beating their previous personal best times. The fastest and most improved runners earned the big lollipop reward!
7th Grade Science
Seventh grade science students are currently working on cell processes unit. This unit includes photosynthesis and respiration. Previously they discussed the photosynthesis equation. Currently, they are doing a preparatory activity where students construct models of various molecules. This activity helped students understand the relationship between atoms and chemical bonds as well as how recombining atoms of various elements results in the creation of different molecules. They will construct the molecules involved in the photosynthesis reaction and using only these molecules students will reconstruct the respiration equation as a culminating activity for the unit. The goal of these activities is to make the abstract chemistry concepts concrete thereby allowing students to deeply understand how photosynthesis and respiration are related and how matter and mass is conserved.
