District Spelling Bee
We are excited for Zoe to represent Ventana Vista today at the District Spelling. It is at Canyon View Elementary School at 3:30. Come on out and show your support. Good luck Zoe!
Kindergarten Show & Tell
Families with incoming Kindergarteners, please attend if you missed our first Show and Tell. Also, please let your friends know that we are meeting with incoming kindergarten students
and families again on Tuesday 24th at 2:00 pm. We welcome all families and this is a time to meet our teachers, learn about our Spanish Immersion Program and also tour the campus.
1st graders
It was great to see our first graders work with number collections. They first had to make a reasonable estimate. Many students were so close! Then they needed to group their collection in groups of tens. Finally, they wrote their equation. All the students did this with a partner. Nice work 1st graders.
Classroom Buddies
Lunch with Dr. Dauman
They were celebrated by going on the balcony and the other students gave them a silent round of applause along with opening the curtain on the stage and being recognized.
They also received a color changing pencil and a pin.
Drills
We are required to complete the following drills throughout the school year:
Fire drills, so we are prepared should there be a fire.
Shelter in place is used when there is a dangerous animal on campus, or lightning.
Lockdowns are used for dangerous situations or a social media threat. Lockdowns may be issued by others in situations that are dangerous or an immediate threat to safety. During
a lockdown, visitors will not be allowed on campus. When we practice for the first time, we do inform staff when the drill will take place. All the other times we do the required number of drills we do not inform staff. This is so that we are all prepared for any of the above situations.
