Getting Credit for Internships in Psychology- Summer 2018 or Fall 2018
While internships are not a requirement to graduate for either the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology or the Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science, they are still a great way to get hands on experience. While you can definitely volunteer at outside agencies or organizations that do Psychology related work, you can also consider earning academic credit!
To do this, you must:
1. Secure the internship with the agency/organization supervisor. Determine how many hours of work you’ll be putting in a week so you know how many credits to ask for.
2. Complete the Advising Sponsored Internship Proposal packet found here, http://psychology.arizona.edu/academics/engagement and submit to the Department of Psychology, 3rd floor of the Psychology building in room 312.
NOTE: There will be some but very few D2L assignments to complete when earning academic credit; students will be registered for PSY 393 or 493 credit.
Summer Advising Schedule
If you're going out of town, be sure to mention you need a phone appointment when you schedule your appointment.
Good luck on finals and congratulations to our 2018 graduates!

OPPORTUNITIES
Undergraduate Research Assistant Positions
Dr. Daniel Sullivan’s cultural-existential psychology lab (http://culturalexistential.lab.arizona.edu/) is seeking assistants to help carry out research on an independent-study-credit basis during Fall 2018.
Our studies focus on individual as well as cultural differences in the types of things people find important and threatening in life (e.g., the role of religion); perceptions of suffering, natural disaster, and victimhood; and the social-cognitive psychology of time and space. We are especially interested in students who have any background in film production as well as psychology.
If you are interested in working as a research assistant on these topics, please contact Isaac Young at isaacyoung@email.arizona.edu or Roman Palitsky at romanp@email.arizona.edu
