Leonardo Da Vinci
1452–1519
Occupations (jobs)
Da Vinci's most occupation was the invention of war machines. This financed most of his art projects if he wasn't commissioned for them. His second most enduring occupation would be as an artist. Leonardo would do onsite surverys of what he wanted to draw and would spend an entire day observing how the light would refract off the subject.
City And Country and Birth
Leonardo was born at the third hour of the night in the Tuscan hill town of Vinci, in the lower valley of the Arno River in the territory of Florence. Born out of wedlock, the love child of a respected notary and a young peasant woman, he was raised by his father, Ser Piero, and his stepmothers.
