One School One Book!
We hope you are enjoying some quality family time reading "A Boy Called Bat"together. Our hope is that this program will not only provide a common experience for everyone, but that it will promote a love of reading for each child at Whitney Elementary since it is such a vital skill that everyone needs to succeed.
We hope that when we are done with our One School/One Book reading of "A Boy Called Bat" our families will continue to read aloud together each night for 10-15 minutes. The improvement in students' reading skills is amazing when families read together for that little bit of time each night. Take turns choosing titles, use different voices for different characters, have your children read aloud to you on long car trips, or even on the way to and from sports and music practices after school.
Please note: the second week of trivia questions will be due on TUESDAY, MARCH 15th (not on Monday the 14th), since Monday is an asynchronous day.

OST Testing Dates for Students in Grades 3, 4 & 5
Spring testing will be here before we know it. We want to provide you with these dates because it is important that your child is in school on their assigned testing date prior to the start of the test. Students tend to do their best when their routine is consistent. We recognize that you are not able to control everything, but if you could be cognizant of these dates when making appointments, coming in late, etc. we would appreciate it. Note: If a child is late to school on a testing day, they are not able to enter the classroom if the test has already started.
***All Testing Starts at 9: 30 a.m.***
