6th Annual Field Day!
It's almost time for our annual England Field Day!
Parents: On Wednesday, May 23, your child's England Physical Education teachers will need a lot of help to make our Field Day event a success. We need parent volunteers to help at each of our Field Day stations throughout the day, help with activity stations, as well as help with lunch in the cafeteria to make it go as smoothly as possible. Please consider visiting the following link to sign up to help us that day!

Please email Coaches Shore and DiCarlo (addresses on the school website) regarding any Field Day questions you might have.
Library News
Our SPRING Book Fair is right around the corner at England Elementary! Please consider signing up to volunteer for one or more time slots during the week of April 30 - May 4 to help us raise valuable funds for our school library in this fun event!
**Before you volunteer on campus, you must complete the RRISD Volunteer Application Online! Please don't delay, as this may require processing time from the district.**
Kindergarten Registration Continues...
Parents can continue to register new kindergarten students for the 2018-2019 school year. To expedite registration parents may pre-register online. Once pre-registered, drop in at the campus during office hours with the required documents, listed below, to complete your student’s registration process. Parents need to bring the following documents when registering:
- Proof of residence within the district (contract on the house, lease agreement, actual title to a house, current RRISD tax statement, or current utility bill indicating the address and the adult’s name.)
- Child’s official birth certificate,
- Child’s immunization record (see requirements),
- Child’s social security card (preferred but will not prevent enrollment).

LEOPARDS Trait for May
Service is an important component to good citizenship. Our students have opportunities through class projects, Scouts, and Student Council to serve not only their school but the larger community as well. We recently acknowledged and thanked the many volunteers at Elsa England. Service-minded people are generous, compassionate, and empathetic.
Campus Reminders
Absences due to Illness: Please send in a parent's or doctor's note within 48 hours of the absence.
Parking Lot One-Way Entrance: We recently made adjustments in the front parking lot to help with the traffic flow during arrival and dismissal. When you enter the lot you must turn right and continue around the loop to access parking. There are approximately 100 parking spots available for visitors and you will be asked to continue driving through the lot until you see an empty spot. Please do not stop traffic by waiting for a preferred spot. We also designated eight spots in the front for office/school staff. We have more teachers and staff than we have parking for in the faculty parking lot, so this was a necessary step. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
What You Can Do To Help:
- If your children are eligible to ride a school bus, please use this service.
- Car-pool to school with neighbors.
- Walk or bike to school with family and friends.
- Arrive early.
- Utilize the student-drop off area in the back and avoid parking problems.
Traffic and Parking: Obey all posted traffic signs on roadways including the no-parking signs posted in front of the school on Pearson Ranch Rd. Please don't try to make your own short-cuts to avoid school traffic, for example dropping your students off in the middle of the parking lot or road, etc. Please help your students stay safe by teaching them to walk in the protected crosswalks to cross the roads rather than darting across traffic and in between cars. Give yourself plenty of time and exercise patience. Safety, not speed, is the priority. It only takes a small error in judgment to make a life-altering mistake.
Walkers and Bike-Riders: We have been excited to see the numbers of walkers and bike-riders increase. Keep it up!
