STUDENTS HOLD SOCRATIC SEMINAR
After researching agricultural practices in the U.S. and around the world, students in AP Human Geography held a Socratic Seminar, debating questions over GMOS, sustainable farming, and food security. Students made thought-provoking arguments, and were able to consider several different perspectives about where our food comes from and how it should be produced!
BRONCO'S MAKER CLUB BUILD MOTORS!
This week in Makers Club our Bronco Makers had the privilege of hearing from and building with some of our fantastic HEBISD Maintenance staff! Mr. Whitehouse and Mr. Barnes came and taught our students how to build electromagnetic motors along with the science behind it all. The students had a blast and we are just so thankful that HEB ISD is truly better together! #broncosMAKE
CHESS CLUB ENJOYS SOME EARLY MORNING COMPETITION
On Wednesday mornings the chess club meets in the library. Chess club is open to everyone. If you don't know how to play chess we will show you.
HEB BOOK SWAP MARCH 2!
Do you have any gently used books you are needing to get rid of? Bring them to the library this month and receive a coupon per book to cash in at the HEB ISD Book Swap on March 2nd at the Pat May Center. This event is a great way to get great new-to-you books! This is a competition, so start cleaning off those bookshelves and bring on the books!!!
L.D. BELL COLOR GUARD TRAINING SESSION
Training sessions for the 2019 L.D. Bell Color Guard begin on Wednesday, March 20 from 6-8 pm in the Band Hall at L.D. Bell High School. Training sessions will be held on Wednesdays: March 20, March 27, April 10, and April 17. The final audition is April 17. No experience is necessary! Students should wear athletic or dance-type clothing. Visit the Band website at www.ldbellband.org for more information. We hope to see you there!
SPRING PICTURES MARCH 1
Spring Picture day is Friday, March 1. Pictures may be ordered online at mylifetouch.com using Picture Day ID TX128224Q0. Packages and backgrounds are listed with descriptions. On campus orders will be accepted as well.

- First period Eighth Graders
- Second period will be 9th Grade Pictures and Panoramic Picture
- Third period is seventh grade.

Mrs. Woodcock would like to recognize Reace Hight for "showing initiative." Reace is inquisitive and determined to understand. He asks great questions and shows a true desire to learn. She enjoys his additions to class discussions. Thanks for being a great Bronco!

Sarra is an excellent student who goes above and beyond in class any chance she gets. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to others and will brighten anyone’s day with her positive attitude. Sarra, we are proud to have a great student like you represent Bedford Junior High!
NICHOLAS SOLMON
Nicholas is such a great kid to have in class because he is a someone who always works hard and is the first to help anyone who needs it. He is quiet, but his dedication and focus does not go unnoticed! We are very excited to see what he will achieve at Bell.
MCKENZIE JONES
Mckenzie is one of those kids you wish you could fill your class with. She is motivated and determined to do her best every day. She will always find a way to make herself better and pushes the other students in her class to do the same. Thank you, Mckenzie, for helping make Bedford best!
JAXON SMITH
Jaxon is a student that makes your bad days better. He is full of spunk and energy and always has a joke or story to share with you. He is a student you can always count on and could be considered Mr. school spirit for always participating in dress up days! You are another reason why Bedford is best!

Kylee is a wonderful young lady who works hard and wants to do well. She is kind, courteous and works well with others. Kylee is determined to be successful and willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve that success!

Please consider helping out your kids school by volunteering a little of your time. Bedford Junior High offers multiple opportunities that currently need some assistance. Morning Crosswalk Duty, Workroom Responsibilities, and as always Concession Sales on Fridays and game days. We would love to see you involved in your kids school and this is a great way to start.

ATHLETIC NEWS
GYMNASTICS RESULTS
Our BJH gymnastics team competed yesterday against Saginaw and Central.
The BJH boys took home 3rd place. Individual highlights included:
Hector Alvarez – 1st on pommel and 3rd on floor
Ethan Nahidi – 4th on vault and 4th on high bar.
The girls’ team finished in 1st place and beat their all around high score. Individual highlights include:
Joanna Lian finished 1st on beam, 1st on floor, 2nd on vault and 2nd on bars.
Great job by all of our BJH gymnasts!
7TH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL
The 7th grade boys A team pulled out a victory in the first round of the gold bracket tournament Tuesday night at BJH beating Watauga 54-46.
The Broncos were up by as many as 16 in the second half, but the scrappy Warriors kept the game close in the 4th quarter. Clutch free throws by Manning Campbell and Kolbe Fielder helped seal the victory late. Campbell finished the game with 14 points and Fielder led the team with 22 points on the night. Ruben Sosa and Jacoby Duncan played solid defense and forced multiple turnovers to carry the Bedford defensively. The Boys will travel down the road to rival Harwood on Friday and take on the #1 seeded Blackhawks in the second round of the tournament at 5:45pm. Find a way there and come support your Broncos! The winner will compete for the championship on Saturday at 1pm.
