SES High 5 Afterschool
December 2018
Cats, Math, Legos and More!
High Five has had a very busy fall thanks to the exceptional leaders and volunteers that come to SES Afterschool throughout the week. Students are encouraged to reach beyond their abilities through STEAM activities, cultural experiences, art, and math and reading programs.
The Arts in High Five
First and second graders keep busy with art projects.
Spinning Paint Art
The spin art project is a favorite with the first graders in Kate Curran's club. Louis was careful in choosing and pouring his paint colors.
Snowflakes and Singing
Mrs. Baier and second graders made Snowflakes and sang holiday songs for Maple Ridge Care Center residents.
A Whatcha-Ma-Call-It!
What's more fun than digging for craft items to make your own creation? Can't go wrong with glue, beads, straws, sticks....
The T, E and the M are Strong
Technology (T), Engineering (E) and Math (M) have been popular with SES High Five students.

Rails Way is the High Five Way
The Rails Way behavior program during SES day school is also adhered to in our High Five Afterschool program. Leaders and staff reinforce day time expectations, keeping the transition as smooth as possible. Tickets are given when students show positive behavior from check-in and recess through Snack Time, during WIN/Academic Clubs, and at Activity Time just prior to check-out. Even our van drivers reinforce positive behavior choices by handing out tickets to students who show The Rails Way!
Each grade level will be working toward a monthly incentive. High Five and day school will keep giving away tickets for those being respectful, responsible, and safe.
